Spring Mountain Vineyard
The revival of the historic Spring Mountain Vineyard estate is one of Napa Valley’s most significant and ambitious projects right now. The 845-acre site rises above the town of St. Helena on the steep eastern slopes of the Mayacamas, making up 33% of the planted acres in the Spring Mountain District AVA. Once highly regarded for its mountain Cabernet Sauvignon and for the performance of its Chardonnay at the 1976 Judgment of Paris, the 150-year-old property is in the early stages of a comprehensive revival—one that includes a 225-acre replant, extensive winery and cave restoration, and a commitment to resurrecting the identities of its four historic ranches: Miravalle, Chateau Chevalier, La Perla, and Alba.
