Sequoia Grove
Sequoia Grove Winery sits on one of the oldest continuously farmed parcels of land in Napa Valley—part of the original Rancho Caymus land grant awarded in 1836 to pioneer George Yount. For decades, the estate has been known mainly for dependable Rutherford Cabernet. However, the most significant changes in the winery’s modern history are happening now, fueled by substantial investment, two major vineyard acquisitions, a nearly complete replanting of the estate, and a winemaking overhaul led by new winemaker Jesse Fox, who joined in 2022. The upcoming releases, including single vineyard bottlings from the new estate vineyards and outstanding Chardonnays at very attractive prices, are well worth the hunt.
