Pym-Rae

High on the slopes of Napa Valley’s Mt. Veeder, Pym-Rae Estate was founded on a vision rooted in Bordeaux and reimagined in California. Acquired in January 2016 by the Tesseron family of Château Pontet-Canet fame, the property was previously owned by actor Robin Williams, who named the house Villa Sorriso—the Villa of Smiles. But what attracted the Tesserons was the 600-acre estate’s 18.5 acres of mature Bordeaux variety vines, ideally suited to their goal of producing a pure, elegant Napa style.

Bordeaux Reimagined in Napa

The Tesseron family legacy began in Cognac four generations ago when Abel Tesseron founded their Cognac business in 1920. The second generation, Guy Tesseron, acquired Château Pontet-Canet in Pauillac in 1975.
