OVID

Located on Pritchard Hill in Napa Valley, OVID Winery was established in 2000 by Mark Nelson and Dana Johnson. The estate is named after the Roman poet Publius Ovidius Naso, who wrote the epic poem "Metamorphoses.” In 2017, OVID was acquired by the Duncan family, owners of Silver Oak Cellars and Twomey wineries, who have embraced the estate’s spirit of sustainability, experimentation, and ongoing transformation.

OVID’s 75-acre property sits at an elevation of around 1,350 feet on iron-rich volcanic soils. This was all virgin land until the original 15-acre vineyard was planted in 2000 by David Abreu.
